Seems like every Polish female soldier we saw was good-looking. These two posed with Spc Alan Vogel, MB and S/Sgt Jed Sanborn. Thanks to Jed for posting this on Facebook recently. (my gawd, I'm starting to look exactly like my old man looked in middle-age). Actually, I was in considerable pain from my pinched nerve neck injury at the time this pic was made; it felt like a bayonet was planted in my left chest and coming out the back, in my left shoulder blade. Posts: 5315 Feb 5 11 4:13 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm not sure if the ones depicted are the same as the one a male Polish soldier showed us in the tent one evening. His was a 5.56mm BERYL. At any rate, the receiver mechanism of the BERYL is similar to that of an AK-47, and some have a folding stock. But the caliber of the rounds is the same as that used by the U.S. M-4 and M-16s; 5.56mm is the same as .223 caliber. Unlike the Vietnam era, the current Army seems to prefer using mm designations, rather than the outdated .223 Caliber reference. Our guys seemed to really like handling the BERYL and some expressed the wish that they could trade-in their M-4 to get one. But wthout a comparison test firing, it is questionable if the Polish weapon is actually superior in performance. People are frequently intrigued by anything exotic and different and the grass always looks greener with what the other guy has got. Last Edited By: KlondikeFox Feb 5 11 4:17 AM. Edited 1 times.
