First and foremost, I just want to say that this forum is a magical spot. I spend a good three or four days browsing and reading posts.
I was hoping you would be able to help me. I am researching the story of Capt. Sam Gibbons, mainly the D-Day aspect to his story. -- Gibbons was a member of RHQ 501st, 101st Airborne and flew into combat on plane #42 (serial 42-24105), which was part of the 435 TCG, 77th TCS.
I am trying to locate the jump roster ("Form B Parachute") for plane #42. - Does anyone have an idea where I could locate these? --Thus far, I have been unable to find any jump rosters from the 501st.
Also, are there any after action reports, or morning reports from the 501st covering their movements/actions in Normandy?
Last but not least, a side question, but I am curious: Why is there so little information available on the 501st PIR? -- It is quite strange.
Thank you for your time, I would greatly appreciate your help.
