Remembering the life of Maj George E Preddy Jr.............. The Mustang Ace with The fame 352nd Fighter Group...Lost on a mission on this day over The Bulge. He and his brother...a fellow P-51 pilot with the 339th fighter group rest side by side today at the US Military Cemetery at St Avold in France. Rest easy you true Tar Heel Warriors!!!!!

In memory of Lt. Porter Little and Pvt. Willard "Dicey" Caughran B/502 , who gave thier lives in the town of Champs Belgium, 25 December 1944.

Lt. Little was killed when a mortar round hit his 3rd platoon C/P killing him instantly. Lt. Little had just handed out some cookies he had recived from home to some of the troopers of the 3rd platoon. His runner had just left the C/P when the round struck, and Little was the only one wounded by it.

Here's a good price on "Breakout At Normandy". I've been hoarding them when I can find them because I tend to not get my books back when I let someone borrow them. Here's a chance for someone to get a copy of Mark's out of print best book (in my opinion).

I wanted to take this opportunity to remember the heroic men of the 9^th Air Corps, 391 Bomb Group, 573 Bomb Squadron - who on the day, December 23^rd, 1944, participated in the ill-fated Arwheiler Mission. 32 B-26s met up with 60 ME-109s (with no fighter support) - only ½ of those planes made it back.

This will be the first Christmas without my dad (17th A/B) present. He would always reminisce about his time in the Bulge after a few scotches and some gentle prodding from me. From Dec 23rd to 25th the 17th A/B flew into the Reims France area on harrowing night flights. Then they moved up to the Meuse river to take up defensive positions.
